Unveiled on May 22, 2004, the monument honoring Stephen the Great in Balti graces Independence Square, situated before the building of the City Hall of Bălți Municipality. Sculpted by Gheorghe Postovanu with architectural design by Vasile Eremciuc, this bronze monument stands atop a pedestal crafted from Cosăuți stone. In 2008 it earned a place in the Register of state-protected monuments.
