Stele in Memory of Governor Ahn Suk
This stele was erected in 1823 to commemorate the achievements of Ahn Suk, who was appointed Governor of Jeolla-do Province in 1809. The stele inscription states that Ahn Suk repaired the fortress, strived to provide drought relief, restored turtle ships according to drawings by Admiral Yi Sun-sin, and corrected tax abuses. The text of the epitaph was composed by Kim I-gak, and the calligraphy was done by Jeong Jip-won. It provides valuable insight into life at the Navy Command of Left Jeolla in the late Joseon period ().
