This is a distinctive monument of Orthodox architecture. In the late 16th century, a wooden church was built in this place, also establishing a school next to it. A church in the shape of a Latin cross was built in 1638. Having suffered a number of fires, it was rebuilt in the late 18th century according to the project of the famous architect Johann Christoph Glaubitz, decorating the interior in Late Baroque stucco mouldings and new iconostasis with impressive columns and sculptures. There is a male monastery built next to the church.
