Data Point related to: ELEMENT
This ancient construction, partly built with salvaged Roman-age material, rises on an important prehistoric and proto-historic site. It was the earliest fulcrum of Christianity in the area. A portico leads into the unique nave with its exposed truss roof and semi-circular apse. It boasts late 14th and early 15th century frescoes by unknown authors. Some of the frescoes are of a very good quality. Worth mentioning are 'Christ and the four Evangelists', Apostles, Saints, 'The Crowning of the Virgin Mary', 'St Orsola and her friends', 'St Florian before his judges' and a touching 'Deposition'.
