Paleochristian Basilica of Elbasan
The text describes a Paleo-Christian basilica located in Elbasan, which was discovered by researchers and archaeologists in 2007. It was declared a Category 1-st Cultural Monument in 2009 and is part of the City's 'A' Archaeological Site declared in 2010. The basilica was built in the 5th century AD and has regular structure, large and symmetrical dimensions in geometry, a mosaic floor, and some frescoed wall fragments. The discovered mosaic scenes in the central narthex and exonarthex depict human and floristic figures with Christian themes. However, more digging is needed to find additional mosaic elements.
