The ruins located in this area have been identified as the town of Parauej Eriboia, settled by the Illyrian tribe that inhabited the region of Permet. There are two hypotheses regarding the ruins: that they were either a city or an Illyrian fort. The construction of the castle took place over four distinct stages. The first stage occurred in the 3rd-4th centuries BC, the second in the 3rd-5th centuries, the third in the 6th-18th centuries, during which significant medieval reconstruction occurred, and the fourth in the early 19th century, which saw the construction of military fortifications and a gallery, as well as facilities for the deployment of heavy weapons.
