The public spa in the centre of Durrës (under the Palace 'Alexander Moisiu') was discovered almost completely in 1960. From its size and the inner ambient it has been part of the city gymnasium. Inside are the stored arches of the ovens, the walls, and floors of the rooms. First is the apodyterium room (dressing room), followed by the tepidarium (sweating room) which is under the hypocaust brick floor letting the hot steam pass. Ongoing in the southern direction is the frigidarium (rooms with cold water) and finally the pools. Laying the floor are marble tiles, in a black and white chessboard form. Southwest of the spa, is located a complex discharge channel on the main road of the Roman period in the northern direction (today 'Alexander Goga' Street).
