The protected area Natural Park 'Blue Eye' (Syri i Kaltër) with a total area of 293.3 ha, lies in the territory of the Municipality of Finiq, with in the center the water source of the Blue Eye limited by forest area, meadows and agricultural land. Blue Eye is one of the largest natural water sources in Albania, positioned approximately 20 km from the city center of Saranda and Delvina. The source of the Blue Eye has a karstic origin. Its shape is oval, similar to the shape of an eye, with a deep blue near the fountain. It has a depth of over 50 meters and is surrounded by dense, evergreen vegetation. The water source of the Blue Eye is included in the natural geopark of Delvina which belongs to th eIonic tectonic zone with evaporitic deposits of Permo-Triassic age. The plant variety in the 'Blue Eye' natural park is very high, represented by 600 species, including shrubs and herbaceous plants. Species such as Quercus frainetto, Quercus cerris and Quercus trojana, form the forest belt with 70-80% coverage. Wild fauna is characterized by the presence of the wolf (Canis lupus), the jackal (Canis aureus), the roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), the wild cat (Felis silvestris), the otter (Lutra lutra), the fox (Vulpes vulpes), the mountain partridge (Alectoris graeca), the common buzzard (Buteo buteo), the owl (Bubo bubo) and salamandra (Salamandra salamandra).
