The Old Believer parish was established in 1906. Construction of the prayer house commenced in 1910, but it burnt down. Construction of a new prayer house commenced at the same place in 1926. The construction of the building with a belfry and a gate was completed in 1938. In 1963 District Council of Preiļi made a decision to demolish the building, leaving the gate only.
