The Murska Sobota Cathedral (Slovene: Stolna cerkev sv. Nikolaja) stands as a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas within the town of Murska Sobota, Slovenia. Since the establishment of the diocese of Murska Sobota in 2006, it has served as the episcopal seat. Originally, the site was home to Roman temples. The first church, built in 1071 using wood, emerged shortly after the local Hungarian community embraced Christianity, marking Murska Sobota as a religious hub in the Middle Ages. The medieval cathedral, erected around 1350, was replaced in 1912 by the present Neo-Romanesque structure, incorporating elements of Jugendstil in its decorations and utilizing reinforced concrete in its construction. Preserving history, the four bells from the former cathedral found their place in the new belfry. Notably, in 1992, a grand organ boasting 37 registers was installed, ranking among the largest in the country.
