The landlords Borchs have separated the park with the area of 41.2 ha from the rest of the territory by a 3-4 meter deep moat and a stone wall around the park. The driveway to the palace led from the Daugavpils Street (on the Western side), where there was a lane of trees planted in four lines and a white stone gate. There was a gate of red bricks also on the Southern side, where the road to Aglona began. At the end of the 19th century from 1881 to 1910 Russian landlord in Preiļi Konstantin Gulkevich built, besides the chapel, a new gate of red bricks leading to the town. This gate is analogous to the gate of Preiļi Roman-Catholic Church.
