The gatekeeper's house of the Preiļi Manor was built at the end of the 19th century during the time of the Lord of the Manor Konstantin Gulkevich. The gatekeeper's house was inhabited by a gatekeeper of the Preiļi Manor; in the beginning of the 20th century there lived a gatekeeper with a nickname 'Adam without a sin.' From 1985 to 2002 Preiļi Museum of History and Applied Arts was situated in the gatekeeper's house. Now the open study holdings of the museum are located in the building.
