The early 1900s saw the acquisition of properties near the coastal area intended for the future cement operation by Sicilian Industrialist Mr. Conigliero, facilitated through the society S.P.E.M.A 'Societa Potland e Marna Albona'. Directed by Mr. D'Aquisto, residing temporarily in Brovinje, the area gradually transformed into Valmazzinghi, later renamed Koromačno after the establishment of the new cement factory between 1920 and 1940. As the workforce grew, housing needs increased, leading to the creation of dwellings in the beach area known as Dobro, forming the hamlet of Dobra. In 1940, the construction of the Chapel of St. Giuseppe marked a significant milestone for Koromačno. Post-World War II, the chapel transitioned into a movie theater, subsequently undergoing changes such as the removal of its bell tower and later repurposed into the market that stands today.
