The controversial issue of the use of the Serbian language and the Cyrillic alphabet in the city of Vukovar came to an end. With the 2021 census revealing that the Serbian population living in Vukovar was less than one third (29.73%), the Vukovar City Council on December 29th, 2022, voted to abolish the official use of Serbian and Cyrillic script in the city. The article presents the response of the deputy mayor Srdjan Kolar, the president of the Vukovar SDSS and analyzes the vote of the Vukovar City Council.
