The construction of the Princely Palace started approximately in 1857 and was finished in 1861. The palace was built according to the project of the architect Alexander Bernardazzi. It is assumed that the bridges and walls of some rooms were painted by the great sailor painter Ivan Aivazovsky. In 1954 the palace was extensively repaired according to the project of the architect Robert Kurtz. Since 1965 the building has served as the headquarters for the Construction College. Restored in 2014-2016. The palace houses several museum rooms, conference and event rooms, as well as a public library in the attic of the building. At present, all rooms are equipped with new windows and wooden and marble floors, many rooms have fireplaces, ceramic stoves, chandeliers, ornate railings, replicas of antique furniture and other decorative objects that recreate the former atmosphere of the palace.
