The church is located in the heart of Globoceni village and represents a small Byzantine chapel of the XII-XIII century. The architecture style reflects similarities with other monuments around the Prespa area. The frescoes of St. Mary Church in Globoceni were realized in two phases distinguished by their conservation. The first phase on the eastern wall exhibits simple thematic of celebration, main saints and incarnation themes, such as: St. Mary Platytera in the apse, the Evangelism and the Ascension scenes, St. Stephan the Protomartyr in prothesis, and St. Simeon Stylites. On the northern wall are painted the scene of Deisis with St. Mary and her son in royal clothes, other saints standing in feet and the busts of Chrisitan martyrs St. Julitta with her son Cyrikus which are integrated in medallions. On this side of the church can also be found St. Pantelimon, crucification, and metamorphosis scenes. The iconographic style, organization and drawing lines' style are characteristic for the Eastern Byzantine churches. An important element in the apse's composition is the painting of St. Simeon Stylites with a suspended leg, showing the influence of the neighboring Kastoria area and extended all around the Prespa region. The representation of busts of St. Julitta with her son Cyrikus within medallions characterize the paleolog style around northern Greece and Serbia. The main characteristics of this style as indicated on many other frescoes around the area, are the portraits with thin drawing lines, skinny long noses, small eyes and raised eyebrows, tall physic with light simple clothing, light colors and half - tones, clear drawing and logical structure, reflecting the iconic style from the second half of the XIVth century. Due to the poor conservation of those paintings the authorship of those paintings is unknown, although comparison with the iconographic style of cave church St. Mary Glluboko in Tuminec and St. Demetrius Church in Tuminec indicates similarities in style and might suggest that also this church was painted by Alex, the disciple of John of Zerve Monastery, but in a totally different unique style than his master.
