The Bremen defense and prison tower was built in the beginning of the 15th century. It was named (initially Bremer) after a citizen who lived nearby. The tower has four floors and a three-quarter circular layout. There was a prison in the lower part of the tower, consisting of two vaulted rooms, one above the other. A stairway from the street led to the second floor of the prison, the bottom one was initially only accessible through a hatch in the ceiling - a doorway was created later. There was a toilet in each room. The defense floors were characteristic to the towers of Tallinn. The bottom one had three embrasures. The uppermost floor, which was destroyed in the Second World War, was restored in 1957-1959. The tower was fixed up again in 2017.
