The article reports on an incident at Ashraf 3, the compound of the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) in Manëz near Durrës, Albania. Police raided the compound to seize devices and equipment, suspecting that MEK members were engaging in prohibited political activities. The Interior Minister stated that the police operation was conducted in accordance with a court order and denied responsibility for the death of one of the MEK members. The State Police head also denied using violence, claiming that only pepper spray was used against non-compliant individuals. However, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, of which MEK is a member, claimed that one person was killed and many were injured during the raid. The MEK, an Iranian opposition group, relocated to Albania between 2013 and 2016 and had an agreement allowing them to reside there. The Interior Ministry accused the MEK of not respecting the agreement and breaching their commitments. The MEK was previously listed as a terrorist organization by the US (1997) but was delisted in 2012 after renouncing violence.
