The ancient municipium, also known as the 'Palace of the Commune' by Matejčić R., is a historic town hall situated in Rijeka's Old Town. For more than three centuries, from 1532 to 1838, this building served as the seat of city administration, housing the Council of patricians (Consiglio dei patrizi) and magistrates responsible for the executive and judicial powers. It stands proudly on Ivan Kobler Square, surrounded by the charm of the Old Town, with the renowned Rijeka Roman Arch gracefully resting upon it.
