Stadion Rujevica, also known as HNK Rijeka Stadium, is located in the city of Rijeka, Croatia. It gained its nickname 'Rujevica' from its geographical location. Starting in August 2015, the stadium served as the temporary home ground for HNK Rijeka during the construction of the new Stadion Kantrida. Additionally, the stadium is an integral part of the training camp used by the club's youth academy, featuring four additional fields. Once the new Kantrida stadium is completed, Stadion Rujevica will transition into the club's primary training ground. The construction of the training centre, funded by the owners of HNK Rijeka, began on September 15, 2014. On July 28, 2015, the stadium received its license from the Croatian football authorities and was officially inaugurated on August 2, 2015, with HNK Rijeka's victory against NK Lokomotiva. The construction of the northern stand, undertaken to meet UEFA stadium category requirements for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, started on May 11, 2017, and was completed on July 21, 2017, effectively increasing the stadium's total capacity from 6,039 to 8,279. The seating capacity of 8,279 is divided among four sectors: Sector I (east) with 2,852 seats, Sector Z (west) with 2,775 seats (including the VIP sector), Sector S (north) with 2,240 seats, and Sector J (south) with 412 seats designated for away supporters.
