Paradiso (known as Paravîs in Friulian) is a charming enclave within the Pocenia municipality, situated in the province of Udine. Nestled in the northeastern extremity of the municipal region, it is bordered by the Cormor River and is gracefully perched around its two prominent villas. Positioned precisely at the center of the bisecting lines of the four cantons enclosing the Bassa Friulana, it forms a symbolic nexus connecting Latisana, Codroipo, Palmanova, Aquileia, and Cervignano districts. This area is adorned with resplendent resurgence points and flourishing agricultural landscapes. Paradiso is conveniently positioned equidistantly between the Latisana and San Giorgio di Nogaro motorway exits. Nearby railway stations include Latisana, San Giorgio di Nogaro, and Udine. With approximately 70 inhabitants, most of whom reside outside the historic village in the encompassing rural farmlands, Paradiso's character emanates from its serene countryside setting. The primary pursuit in this enclave is wine production, where several estates and wineries thrive. Esteemed winemakers such as Tenuta Grandi and Gabana Spa, Tenuta Veritti, and Tenuta Fraccaroli contribute to the locale's reputation. The Cabernet and Refosco dal peduncolo rosso varietals have achieved notable renown. Dining establishments and agritourism ventures flourish along the banks of the Cormor River and within the municipal park adjacent to the Stella and Torsa rivers. Additionally, rice cultivation is practiced here, with Domenico Fraccaroli, co-owner of the eponymous farm, reintroducing rice growing to Friuli. Paradiso is also recognized for its role in mineral water and natural carbonated beverage production at the Acqua Paradiso Spa facility. The distribution of these products spans Italy and international markets, with a notable surge in exportation to China. Remembering the somber context of the First World War, which claimed numerous lives during Italy's three years of conflict, Paradiso became the final resting place for fallen soldiers. On November 4, 1918, at 3 pm, Lieutenant Augusto Piersanti, Second Lieutenants Alberto Riva Villasanta and Achille Balsamo di Loreto, Corporal Giulio Marchesini, and cavalrymen Carlo Sulla, Giovanni Quintavalli, and Giovanni Biancherini lost their lives in this vicinity. To honor their sacrifice, a monument was erected at the intersection between the current SS353 road and the path leading to Paradiso.
