Krnica, also known as Carnizza in Italian, lies in the southeastern region of Istria. Positioned approximately 17 km (10.5 mi) northeast of Pula, Istria County's largest city, Krnica sits at an elevation of 195 meters (639 feet) above sea level. Within a short distance of 2.3 km (1.4 mi) southeast lies Krnički porat, a port nestled amidst protected Istrian landscapes, adorned by a handful of houses and stunning natural surroundings. This area, encompassing Krnica and its neighboring villages, draws numerous tourists due to its proximity to the sea and its suitability for activities like biking, swimming, diving, and boat rides. Krnica retains its tranquil ambiance, even during the bustling summer months, devoid of any traffic congestion. A significant cultural event, Sv. Roko (Rokova), takes place annually on August 16, attracting an average of around 500 attendees. As per the 2021 census, Krnica boasted a population of 275 inhabitants, a slight decrease from the 2011 census count of 286 residents.
