Relics of Saints Gorazd and Angelarios
According to the century-old tradition of the Christian Church and the available resources, Saints Gorazd and Angelarios, disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius, were missionaries in Albania during the Bulgarian occupation, in the 9th and 10th centuries AD. It is believed that their relics went from the Monastery of St Mary in Ballsh in Gllavenica, in Berat's Mitropolis during the Ottoman conquests, first to the Monastery of Saint George in Mbreshtan and later to the Dormition of St Mary Cathedral where they are still preserved, inside their ark.
