Heunginjimun Gate

Heunginjimun Gate is the east gate of the then Seoul City Wall, which was built in 1398 (the 7th year of the reign of King Taejo). The current gate is a rebuilt version, built in 1869 (the 6th year of the reign of King Gojong). At that time, there were four great gates and four smaller gates built at the Seoul City Wall. Along with Sungnyemun Gate, it is the largest gate in Seoul.
