At the very centre of the town there is a Baptist prayer house. The Baptist congregation of the Liv coast was founded in 1980, but the church was constructed in 1902 with the personal funding of congregation member D. Ottmanis. During the First World War the church was badly damaged and burnt, but was renovated in 1925 with the help of Captain Augusts Dambergs. The prayer house was completely renovated at the end of the 20th century, but the external aspect of the prayer house has not changed since its renovation in 1925 - it is a single-story rectangular building with plaster-coated walls and a ridged roof. The attic room has been adapted for Sunday school activities. In the grand hall of the church there is an altarpiece done by the painter V. Kreslins (1991).
