This small construction, existing prior to the Odeon, which occupies a niche in the supporting wall of the hill, was discovered and excavated by Leo Rey in 1931. It includes a paved area of stone tiles surrounded by two molded bases and ornate feline and rosette legs. In front of the two bases, an accumulation of architectural blocks looked like a small temple with two Ionic columns in front. It is therefore an open construction; two pedestals supported a statuary, as the base placed in the niche. Therefore it would be a sacellum (place of worship in the open), which, on the basis of comparison with similar monuments, could be dedicated to the imperial cult. The sanctity of the monument was preserved at the time of construction of the Odeon.
