Norman Robert Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank (born June 1, 1935), is a renowned English architect and designer, closely linked to the development of high-tech architecture. Recognized as a key figure in British modernist architecture, he founded the architectural practice Foster + Partners in 1967, originally known as Foster Associates. It is now the largest practice in the UK, with offices worldwide. Foster is also the president of the Norman Foster Foundation, established in 2017 to promote interdisciplinary research and support emerging architects, designers, and urbanists. The foundation, headquartered in Madrid, operates globally. Foster was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 1999.
