Architect
Louis-Auguste Amos was a Quebec architect born in Montreal on August 18, 1869, and he passed away on August 20, 1948. He studied engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, and later pursued architecture at McGill University. In 1892, he established an architectural firm with his colleague and former professor, Alfred Arthur Cox, who was originally from England. After Cox's death, Amos entered into a partnership with one of his sons. He was also the brother-in-law of former Quebec Premier Sir Lomer Gouin. Amos's architectural style was significantly influenced by the work of American architect William Adams Delano.
