Leopold II (1050 – October 12, 1095), also recognized as Leopold the Fair (German: Luitpold der Schöne), hailed from the House of Babenberg. Serving as Margrave of Austria from 1075 until his demise, he ardently championed the Gregorian Reforms and emerged as a prominent adversary of the German king Henry IV during the Investiture Controversy.
