Architect
Kuno Waidmann (Tigerfeld , March 8, 1845 – Graz , October 4, 1921), German architect of historicism, who created most of his work in Croatia (then Austria-Hungary). As an architect, he created a significant body of work in Zagreb that would significantly influence the development of Croatian architecture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Although he never learned the Croatian language, he was extremely respected as an expert in Zagreb, and many later famous Croatian architects, such as Leo Hönigsberg and Julio Deutsch , Martin Pilar and Viktor Kovačić, worked in his studio at the beginning of their careers. Despite being a foreigner, in 1894 he was elected vice-president of the Society of Engineers and Architects, and in 1898 Emperor Franjo Josip after visiting Zagreb, he personally appointed him as a construction consultant.
