Painter
Gianfranco del Zotto known as Gianfrancesco da Tolmezzo (Socchieve, 1450 – 1511) was an Italian painter. Considered the brilliant initiator of the Tolmezzo school of painting, he is one of the greatest exponents of Friulian pictorial art of the fifteenth century. In 2011 the headquarters of Palazzo Frisacco in the alpine town of Tolmezzo hosted the small exhibition "Gianfrancesco da Tolmezzo and his time" aimed at celebrating "the 500th anniversary of the death" of the great Renaissance artist.
