Composer Conductor
Emīls Dārziņš (November 3, 1875 – August 31, 1910) was a Latvian composer, conductor, and music critic known for his distinctly romantic compositions rooted in national themes. Influenced by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Jean Sibelius, Dārziņš primarily contributed to vocal music, excelling in choral and art songs. While he also composed orchestral pieces, only "Melanholiskais valsis" (Melancholic Waltz) has survived. His sole opera, "Rožainās dienas" (Rosy Days), remained incomplete due to his untimely death at the age of 34.
