Borislav Biserov Mihaylov (Bulgarian: Борислав Биcepoв Михайлов), born on 12 February 1963, is a former Bulgarian professional footballer renowned for his role as a goalkeeper. He also serves as the President of the Bulgarian Football Union (2005 – 2019; 2021 – present) and holds a past position on the executive committee of UEFA. Mihaylov notably captained the Bulgaria national team during their remarkable fourth-place finish at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He played a pivotal role in their progress, including saving two penalties in the shoot-out against Mexico during the 1/8-final stage. He also led the team during their participation in UEFA Euro 1996 and participated in the 1986 and 1998 FIFA World Cups. Mihaylov's legacy includes holding the second-highest number of appearances for the Bulgaria national football team, with 102 caps, and boasting the record for the most matches played as captain, standing at 60 games.
