Batu Khasikov, born on June 28, 1980, is a multifaceted figure in Russia, known as a politician, activist, and former kickboxing champion. He assumed the role of Head of the Republic of Kalmykia in 2019, following his tenure as a Russian Federation Senator from 2012 to 2014 and earlier as a Member of the People's Khural from 2008 to 2012. Before his political career, Khasikov boasted an accomplished career in professional kickboxing, securing numerous world championships. His professional journey transitioned in 2003 when he served in law enforcement until 2008, achieving the rank of senior lieutenant. His path altered when he was elected as a member of the Federation Council for the Republic of Kalmykia in March 2008. Additionally, Khasikov leads the "For a Healthy Country" civic organization, dedicated to advocating and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Presently, the nationwide All-Russian Social Movement "For A Healthy Country" regularly orchestrates events across various cities in support of this cause.
