Albin Kurti, with Albanian pronunciation , was born on 24 March 1975. He is a prominent Kosovo-Albanian politician and activist, currently serving as the Prime Minister of Kosovo since 22 March 2021. Notably, he previously held this position from February to June 2020. Kurti rose to prominence in 1997 as the vice-president of the University of Pristina student union. He played a central role in organizing non-violent demonstrations during 1997 and 1998. Additionally, he worked in the office of Adem Demaçi, the political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), when Demaçi assumed this role. Kurti has been a member of the Assembly of Kosovo since 2010, serving in three consecutive legislative terms.
