Royal Van Oord is a prominent Dutch maritime contracting company specializing in dredging, land reclamation, and the construction of man-made islands. Founded in 1868 by Govert van Oord, it has since undertaken numerous global projects, including the Oosterscheldekering in 1986, the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai in 2003, and the IJsselmeer pipeline in the Netherlands in 2006. In 2018, King Willem-Alexander awarded the company the designation "Koninklijk" (Royal). Van Oord continues to expand its operations, recently acquiring MPI Offshore to strengthen its position in the British offshore wind energy market.
