The Tekke of Melan (Albanian: Teqeja e Milanit) is a khanqah (Albanian: tekke) and a famous pilgrimage site of the Bektashi Order of Sufism. It was built in 1800 in Libohovë, near Gjirokastër in southern Albania. The site lies on a hill overlooking the Dropull plain south of Gjirokastër, on the east side of the valley near the small village of Vlaho Goranxi (Vrahogoranxi). In 1800, the tekke was most likely built to replace an earlier one by Baba Aliu, head of the Zall Tekke, but some sources date it to 1870. Baba Aliu's tomb is next to the main building. The courtyard is overgrown with cypress trees and includes an Ottoman shadirvan supplied with water by an aqueduct. The extensive two-story main building includes a prayer hall and adjoining rooms where the Shi’a-influenced Bektashi dervishes pray, study, meditate, and listen to the babas’ sermons. Followers of the order gather for ceremonies as well as outdoor picnics on the grounds. The hill was home to Epirote and Illyrian forts in antiquity, and material from a fort wall was used to build the tekke. Ceramic remains from the 4th century BC have also been found nearby. The walls were reinforced in the 5th century and 6th century. The remains of a small medieval church can be found here, and a Christian monastery is said to have predated the tekke. Today, the tekke is secluded on the eastern slopes of the valley, but the caravan route through the Drin Valley went through at one point. John Hobhouse, 1st Baron Broughton and Lord Byron traveled through on their journey Ioannina to Tepelenë to meet Ali Pasha of Ioannina. The tekke was badly damaged by Greek troops during World War I and World War II. The area was declared a cultural heritage site in 1963, but would be closed and partially destroyed during an anti-religious campaign mounted by dictator Enver Hoxha of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania in the late 1960s, an emulation of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The Albanian Armed Forces sometimes used the building. After the ban on religion was lifted in 1990, the tekke was rebuilt by worshipers from Nepravishtë, Libohovë, and Lazarat from 1994 to 2002. Today, the tekke is governed by the Gjirokastër Sufi patriarchate (Albanian: gjyshata) and is staffed by a live-in dervish.

Cave of Spile (Cyclop's Cave) is a prehistoric occupation, which dates from the Mesolithic period (10,000-7000 B.C.), and as archaeological material confirms, has served as a temporary residence until the period of antiquity. Archaeological excavations were conducted initially in the late 1930s, by Italian researcher L. Cardini. The abundance of archaeological and faunal remains of these excavations date this habitat about the eneolitike (3000-2100 B.C.), to the hellenistic and roman period. The second archaeological excavation was carried out in 2002-2003 by a joint mission of the Albanian-American archaeologist, they dated this occupation of the Mesolithic period. These excavations proved a rich inventory of archaeological objects as stone tools and pottery of various periods. According to the oral traditions of the habitants of Himara, in this cave Odisea fought Polifem like in Homer's poem.

The library has been operating in the building of the Andrej Manfreda Home since June 2002, which was renovated by the Municipality of Kobarid after the earthquake in 1998. The interior of the library is uniquely designed and modeled after Scandinavian libraries. Architect Nataša Štrukelj built the interior with a contrast between the earthy wooden floor and the airy furniture made of glass and aluminum, as well as fiery red seating elements and water-shaped sculptures and a spiral wall. Due to its unique interior design and technological equipment, the library was listed in the database of the most beautiful European libraries in 2009. The beginnings of librarianship in the Kobarid area date back to the mid-19th century, when the Society of Young Men and Women for a Pious Life was established in Libušnje. Following the example of other Slovenian towns, the National Reading Room began operating in Kobarid in 1871, and at the turn of the century, the municipality opened the first public library of its kind in Slovenia. After World War I, the pre-war Reading Room tried to continue its mission, including the opening of a library in 1923, but the Italian fascist regime obstructed their activities, so they stopped operating in 1925. After liberation, the library operated with some interruptions under the Simon Gregorčič Cultural Society until 1964. From 1978, the traveling library continued its mission during its monthly stops in Kobarid and the surrounding areas. In the 1980s and especially in the 1990s, the Tolmin library sought to open a branch library in Kobarid. Kobarid residents received a new, exceptionally well-equipped departmental library in 2002.

The Yanghwa Bridge (양화대교) is an eight lane bridge spanning the Han River in Seoul. The bridge connects Mapo-gu on the north side of the river to Yeongdeungpo-gu on the south side of the river. The bridge is buttressed by the eastern end of the island of Seonyudo, home to Seonyudo Park (선유도공원). The bridge is a combination of two bridges: the old bridge, originally called the 'Second Han River Bridge' (제2한강교), completed in 1965; and the new bridge, completed in 1982. The old bridge was the first bridge built by Korean technology after independence in 1945 and served as the gateway from Seoul to the west coast. Due to increasing traffic, construction for an expansion started in 1979 and the new eight lane bridge was completed in February 1982. The old bridge's upper structure has a width of 18.0m, length 1,053m and is composed of steel plate girders and concrete box girders. The new bridge has a width of 16.1m, length 1,053m and is a steel plate girder bridge. The lower structure has an open caisson well foundation. The bridge went through repairs and renovations in 1996 and reopened in April 2002 with additional ramps. As of February 2010, the bridge is once again going through renovations by widening the space between bridge posts to allow 5000t ships to pass. Yanghwa Bridge also has a song named after it called '양화대교 Yanghwa Bridge' by R&B/soul singer Zion.T in 2014.

The Gayang Bridge crosses the Han River in South Korea and connects the Gangseo District and Mapo District. The bridge was completed in 2002.

The Mall was created as a triumphal roadway from Buckingham Palace to Admiralty Arch in 1910, and is therefore the great ceremonial route of London, the way along which the Sovereign travels to Westminster Abbey for the Coronation in the Gold State Coach, to the Houses of Parliament for the State Opening of Parliament, and to Horse Guards Parade for the Birthday Parade (or 'Trooping the Colour'). The Mall derives its name from a popular French game called 'paille-maille', which was a mixture between golf and croquet. In the 17th Century it was played on a tree-lined walk to the north of St James's Palace on the site of what is now Pall Mall. For greater convenience the game was moved into St James's Park, the name eventually being shortened to the Mall. Many state visitors from overseas have driven in procession along the Mall from Victoria Station to Buckingham Palace, including General Charles de Gaulle of France, who saluted his wartime office, 4 Carlton Gardens, from the open carriage, in April 1960. This is also the route down which the funeral processions of Britain's Kings and Queens have passed since that of King Edward VII in 1910, Queen Mary watched the funeral procession of her son, King George VI, from her balcony window of Marlborough House in February 1952. The Mall has also been the scene of great rejoicing, notably at the end of World War II, and following three Coronations and several royal weddings, but never more so than at the Golden Jubilee of The Queen in June 2002. There had been the Prom at the Palace and the pop concert in the grounds of Buckingham Palace, the lighting of the first of a chain of beacons across Britain, and a blaze of fireworks, leading to the procession on 4 June, when the Gold State Coach conveyed The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to St Paul's Cathedral for a special Thanksgiving Service. That afternoon one million people filled the Mall, after the parade to witness the fly past that concluded the main jubilee celebrations, and to celebrate The Queen.
