The Milden Community Museum, a Municipal Heritage Property, stands prominently at the northwest corner of Main Street and Saskatchewan Avenue in the Village of Milden. The site features a wood-frame, one-story former schoolhouse, originally built in 1917 and relocated to Milden in 1951.The heritage value of the Milden Community Museum is rooted in its history as a public institution. Constructed in 1917, this building served as the first schoolhouse for the Equity School District, known as Equity School. It operated as a Grades 1-8 school until closing in 1942 and sat vacant until it was moved to its current location in 1951. There, it functioned as a Grade 1-2 school until its second closure in 1956. In 1969, the Milden Museum Corporation purchased the building and, in 1970, opened it as the Milden Community Museum. Since then, the museum has preserved the property, making various renovations to house its expanding collection of artifacts and exhibits.Key character-defining elements that highlight the heritage value of the Milden Community Museum include: architectural features that reflect its history as a public building, such as its traditional schoolhouse design with a distinctive window wall, segmented windows, hip roof, rectangular floor plan, original blackboards, bell dormer with bell, and a flagpole.

The McCord Museum, a Municipal Heritage Property in the Hamlet of McCord, is a two-storey wood-frame building originally constructed as a Canadian Pacific Railway Station in 1928. The station, which served the community from 1929 to 1970, played a crucial role in McCord’s development by providing essential passenger and freight services, as well as being the hub for telegram communications. After closing in 1970, the building became the local museum in 1972. The heritage value of the museum lies in its association with the railway, its role in shaping the town’s layout, and its architectural significance as one of the oldest buildings in McCord, following the CPR’s 'Plan 16A' design used for Third-Class stations. The station’s architectural features, such as the bell-cast roof, oversized dormer, wooden siding, and original reddish-brown color, make it a landmark in the community. The property also includes original outbuildings like detached privies, further contributing to its heritage value.

Briercrest College and Seminary is a private evangelical post-secondary institution located in Caronport, Saskatchewan, Canada. It includes a college, a seminary, and operates Briercrest Christian Academy. Originally founded as Briercrest Bible Institute on October 19, 1935, by Henry Hildebrand and Sinclair Whittaker, the school began with just 11 students. A rented house served as the dormitory, classroom, and office, with Hildebrand as principal, assisted by Annie Hillson, Isabel and Jean Whittaker, and Margaret Rusk. Donald McMillan later joined as assistant principal.By 1946, the school had outgrown its space, and Whittaker arranged the purchase of the RCAF Station Caron, a former World War II aircrew training facility, for $50,000. This new campus was dedicated on July 1, 1946, and repurposed into dormitories, classrooms, offices, and staff housing. The college's enrolment grew significantly, from 285 students in 1970 to 775 in 1985, peaking in 2002 with 869 students in the College and 247 in the Seminary. The institution was renamed Briercrest College in 2003. However, recent years have seen a decline in enrolment. As of 2019, Briercrest Christian Academy had 141 students, Briercrest College had 489, and Briercrest Seminary had 286.This decline in enrolment has contributed to financial challenges, with budget deficits of $2.17 million in 2019, $2.26 million in 2018, and $1.18 million in 2017.

Holy Trinity Anglican Church is a historic Carpenter Gothic-style building situated along the banks of the Churchill River in Stanley Mission, part of the Lac La Ronge First Nation and Lac La Ronge Provincial Park in Saskatchewan, Canada.Designed by Rev. Robert Hunt, an English missionary who established Stanley Mission in 1851 with permission from the Hudson's Bay Company, the church was constructed between 1854 and 1860. Local Cree craftsmen built it using locally sourced lumber, while Hunt brought hardware and stained glass from England. Once the heart of a large missionary complex that included nearly 30 buildings and a cemetery, the church remains the oldest standing building in Saskatchewan. Though not the seat of a bishop, its impressive size, with a tall central nave and intricate spire, has earned it the nickname 'cathedral.'In 1970, Holy Trinity Anglican Church was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. It also became a provincially registered historic site on August 26, 1981. On June 10, 2010, a ceremony marked its 150th anniversary.

The Fort Pelly Provincial Historic Site covers 9.25 hectares of hay fields and wooded land near the Assiniboine River, about 13 kilometers southeast of Norquay. This site includes the archaeological remains of a 19th-century Hudson’s Bay Company trading post. The heritage value of Fort Pelly #1 lies in its connection to the Hudson’s Bay Company after its 1821 merger with the North West Company. The archaeological remains offer insights into life at the post during that era.Between 1791 and 1821, at least 16 trading posts operated on the upper Assiniboine River, owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company, North West Company, and independent traders. Following the 1821 merger, the Hudson’s Bay Company consolidated its operations, closing posts and merging departments. In 1824, Fort Pelly was established at the 'Elbow' of the Assiniboine as the main post of the newly combined Swan River Department, named after the Hudson’s Bay Company Governor John H. Pelly. Despite declining fur yields, the post was maintained and even expanded to prevent First Nations trappers from trading with American, Métis, and other competitors. Fort Pelly operated at this site until 1856, when it was relocated due to frequent flooding.Archaeological excavations in the early 1970s uncovered structural remains that reveal the post's construction, expansions, and rebuilding after a fire in 1843. Over 15,000 artifacts found on-site reflect the daily lives of the inhabitants, the fur trade, and other key activities, such as trade goods manufacturing, boat building, livestock raising, and gardening.

Rijeka Airport (Croatian: Zračna luka Rijeka, Italian: Aeroporto di Fiume; IATA: RJK, ICAO: LDRI) serves as the international airport for Rijeka, Croatia. Situated near the town of Omišalj on the island of Krk, it is approximately 17 km away from the Rijeka railway station. The airport experiences its peak traffic during the summer months, catering to several European low-cost airlines transporting tourists to the northern regions of the Croatian coast. Opened in May 1970, Rijeka Airport's inaugural departure featured Josip Broz Tito and his wife. Before the Second World War, the Yugoslav part of Rijeka was serviced by the Sušak airfield, with routes connecting to cities like Zagreb, Belgrade, Split, and Sarajevo. Meanwhile, the Italian part of the city had regular flights to various Italian cities operated by Ala Littoria. Due to the limitations of the Grobnik airport, including proximity to hills, a decision was made to establish the airport on Krk, with its single terminal building dating back to its original opening. While minor upgrades have been implemented over the years, the terminal currently features 7 gates (1 domestic, 6 international), without jet bridges. Boarding is conducted by passengers walking directly from the terminal to the aircraft. Facilities include a duty-free shop, café bar, and limited snack bar. The airport boasts a single 2500 m long and 45 m wide runway, with CAT I ILS landing aids installed on Runway 14. Transportation to and from the airport is facilitated by a dedicated bus line from Rijeka and Omišalj, operating as needed based on flight arrival times, requiring prior booking 24 hours in advance.

The Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, situated on Lake Huron's eastern shore in Ontario, Canada, spans 932 hectares (2300 acres) of land. Originally named after Bruce Township, now amalgamated as Kincardine, it boasted eight CANDU pressurized heavy-water reactors, earning the title of the world's largest operational nuclear generating station by total reactor count until 2016 when South Korea's Kori Nuclear Power Plant surpassed its nameplate capacity. Employing over 4000 individuals, it stands as the primary employer in Bruce County. Initially known as the Bruce Nuclear Power Development (BNPD), construction occurred between 1970 and 1987 under the auspices of Ontario Hydro, later divided into five Crown corporations in 1999. Ontario Power Generation (OPG) assumed control of all generating stations, subsequently leasing operations to Bruce Power in June 2000, with active operations commencing in May 2001. The lease initially spanned 18 years until 2019, extendable for an additional 25 years until 2044. The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) renewed Bruce Power's operating licenses in November 2009 for five years until 2014, authorizing refueling of units 1 and 2. Subsequent extensions and renewals were granted, extending the operating license to May 2020 and then to 2028. In 2023, plans were unveiled for the potential construction of a third nuclear power station, Bruce C, initially proposed in the late 2000s but not pursued at that time.

Opus One Winery, situated in Oakville, California, originally known as napamedoc, adopted its current name in 1982. Founded as a collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, the winery aimed to craft a Bordeaux-style blend primarily using Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Positioned adjacent to the Robert Mondavi Winery, its establishment in 1980 made headlines, lending prestige to the burgeoning Napa wine region. Initially released in 1984 alongside the 1980 vintage, Opus One's debut vintage, the 1979, marked a significant moment. It quickly became renowned as one of Napa Valley's priciest wines, with the 2014 vintage retailing at $325 per bottle. In 1989, a new winery emerged nearby, producing its inaugural vintage in 1991. Additionally, since 1993, the winery has crafted a second wine, Overture.History of Opus One WineryOpus One's inception dates back to a meeting in 1970 between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in Hawaii, igniting their ambition to blend traditional and contemporary winemaking approaches. Although officially announced in 1980, their collaboration had been evolving since the early 1970s. The first vintage, crafted in 1979 using grapes from Mondavi's To Kalon Vineyard, laid the groundwork for the joint venture. Subsequently, in 1980, 35 acres of this vineyard were sold to the partnership, shaping the backbone of their blend, with the initial vintage from this block released in 1985. The estate's iconic limestone winery in Oakville was constructed between 1989 and 1991. Opus One gained prominence in the 1990s as a sought-after California cult wine, reaching markets in Asia and Europe. Post Constellation Brands' acquisition of Robert Mondavi Winery in 2004, the estate of Baron Rothschild negotiated with Constellation Brands for control over marketing, vineyard management, and winery administration.Opus One produced its inaugural vintage in 1979, yet the construction of the Opus One Winery commenced a decade later. Positioned facing the Mondavi winery, the architectural design by Scott Johnson aimed to seamlessly integrate with the valley's rugged terrain while exuding a classical aesthetic. The winery's construction posed challenges due to its location atop a high water table, necessitating careful excavation, and benefiting from the warmth of nearby geothermal springs that influence its soil. Spanning 108 acres, the winery hosts a vine distribution of 2,200 vines per acre.

Rabac, also known as Porto Albona in Italian, sits as a Croatian resort nestled along the picturesque Kvarner Bay, a stone's throw away from Labin in Istria. Once a modest fishing port, Rabac transformed in the 1970s, blossoming into a vibrant resort town adorned with a plethora of villas and apartment complexes. Adding to its allure, the annual Rabac Festival, a celebration of electronic music, has been a cherished tradition for numerous years, drawing in a crowd of 3000 attendees back in 2002.Before the close of the 19th century, Rabac existed as a quaint fishing village. In 1876, the British explorer Richard Francis Burton paid a visit to this village and included it in his book 'The Seaboard of Istria.' During that period, the Prohaska family constructed the initial summer mansion, though it met destruction during World War II. Following this, Rabac welcomed its inaugural hotel, the Quarnaro, inaugurated on June 11, 1889.
