This church, a striking example of Gothic architecture with its adorned vaults, angel star, and black marble altar, underwent a late 19th-century restoration to reclaim its original Gothic charm, renewing its facades, stained-glass windows, and entrance portal. Inside, pillars divide the hall, supporting a ribbed vault featuring an eight-point star. The central nave's vault boasts an angel star, while the presbytery flaunts a star-shaped vault adorned with figurines. In the 18th century, Ludovic Bombassi replaced the main Gothic altar with a remarkable black marble piece, complemented by statues of St. Leopold and St. Nicholas by Angelo Pozzo. Additional altars by sculptor Janez Jarm and Janez Vurnik Jr.'s Mary's altar from 1898 add to the church's splendor. Near the church and rectory stand remnants of a 14th-century wall. A World War II bunker houses a shrine to Edith Stein, and the rectory courtyards preserve traces of an erstwhile tavern, offering historical insights upon request or during guided tours. This church likely had its origins in a 10th-century chapel and evolved alongside the town's growth, becoming significant enough to relocate the archdiocese by the 13th century. Its transition from a Romanesque basilica to a Gothic church began around 1500, potentially marked by a 1495 inscription, denoting a major renovation.

The First Romanian School is situated within the grounds of the 16th-century St. Nicholas Church in the historical district of Șcheii Brașovului, in present-day Brașov, Romania. It's the initial school in Romania to employ the Romanian language for instruction, replacing Church Slavonic language in 1583. Constructed in 1495, it began functioning even earlier, likely before the 15th century. Villages sponsored students who traveled from various regions to attend, accumulating 1,730 students over time, with a maximum of 110 concurrently. The school operated until 1850 when the Andrei Șaguna College was established. The site now houses a museum with a collection of early Slavic and Romanian books, the first Romanian Bible, and artifacts, including the first Romanian printing press which produced notable works like the first Romanian letter in Latin and the first Romanian schoolbook. The school's significance is commemorated by a plaque highlighting its educational legacy and its role in the community.

Saint Nicholas Church, known as Biserica Sfântul Nicolae in Romanian, stands proudly as a Romanian Orthodox place of worship situated in Brașov. It holds a commanding presence within the historical expanse of Șcheii Brașovului. This church's origins trace back to 1292 when its foundation was laid. Its significance was acknowledged in a Papal decree issued by Pope Boniface IX in 1399. In a collaborative effort between the local populace and Vlad Călugărul, the Voivode (Prince) of Wallachia, the church underwent a stone-based reconstruction commencing in 1495. Further contributions for its enhancement were made around 1512, courtesy of Neagoe Basarab. Originally designed in the Gothic architectural style, Saint Nicholas Church later underwent a transformation, adorning itself with elements emblematic of the Baroque aesthetic. Within its confines, one can find frescoes adorning the walls, masterfully crafted by the renowned muralist, Mișu Popp.

Roman Catholic church in Vilnius' Old Town established circa 1495–1500. It is a prominent example of both Flamboyant Gothic and Brick Gothic styles and is one of the most interesting examples of Gothic architecture in Lithuania. The present brick church was constructed on the initiative of the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander I Jagiellon in 1495–1500; the exterior of the church has remained almost unchanged since then. A novel approach to bricks as a construction material was employed in the church's construction. The main façade, designed in the Flamboyant Gothic style, is its most striking feature. Traditional Gothic elements and shapes were used in unique ways; Gothic arches are framed by rectangular elements dominating a symmetrical and proportionate façade, creating an impression of dynamism. According to Lithuanian architect and art historian Vladas Drėma, patterns from the Pillars of Gediminas are echoed in the church's façade. The church has one nave and two towers. It was built using 33 different kinds of clay bricks and painted in red.
