It is believed that their relics went from the Monastery of St Mary in Ballsh in Gllavenica, in Berat's Mitropolis during the Ottoman conquests, first to the Monastery of Saint George in Mbreshtan and later to the Dormition of St Mary Cathedral where they are still preserved, inside their ark.

The date preserved on the door of the nave indicates that the church was rebuilt in 1797. This is one of the most representative monuments of Byzantine architecture in the city. It is a three-naved basilica covered with arches and domes. The nave floor is paved with stone slabs, and in the center there is a solar mosaic and calendar which provides a visual chart of the Christian cosmos. Dating back to 1806 the iconostasis, carved from wood and is covered in gold leaf, remains in good condition. The altar area, on the east, preserves parts from the original fresco. In this cathedral, the two famous Codexes of Berat were hidden. Currently, the Cathedral houses the 'Onufri' National Iconographic Museum where some of the most famous icons of Albanian artists have been collected from different churches in Berat and are in this museum.

Built between the 18th and 19th centuries, and situated in the center of the Gorica Quarter, the Church of Saint Spiridon is a three-nave basilica, with a flat ceiling, and two lower side naves. The church is composed of the nave, the altar area, the narthex, the portico, the bell tower and another area for prayer to the right of the nave. The iconostasis is made of wood and covers the whole length in front of the entrance to the altar area. The church has one entrance from the narthex where there is an inscription in Greek dating the construction of the monument to 1864. On the side of the entrance is the portico, placed on nine circular stone pillars supported on simple square bases. The apse is on the east and has three parts. To the north of the church is the bell tower, constructed of high quality carved stones. The only murals that remain are partially preserved in the eastern nave.

The church of St. Mary Blaherna is one of the oldest churches built in the city of Berat. The church has a yard where it is thought to have been an early monastery of the V-VI centuries. It has a cross in square plan and has been built with the clausonage technique (stone surrounded with tiles), characteristic for the Byzantine churches of the XIII-XIV centuries. The church was reconstructed in the XVI century. Under the nartex floor is a water cistern which is thought to have been built earlier in time. Nicolas Onufri painted the church in 1578. The St. Michael's Church (Albanian: Kisha e Shën Mëhillit) is a medieval Byzantine church outside the Kalaja district on a hilltop of the city of Berat of Southern Albania. As part of the Historic Centres of Berat and Gjirokastër UNESCO World Heritage Site, the church was possibly constructed in the fourteenth century and is dedicated to the Christian archangel of Michael. The church is relative small in size and was constructed on the south of the Kalaja district on a steep rock. It is a cruciform chapel instilled without any internal support, with a dome on drum and narthex on the west section. It was built on a cruciform plan with a dome on the top. The walls are characterized by combination of rows of red brick with stone. Inside the temple, the remains of painting walls retains only few trace. A collection of frescoes and icons have been preserved nowadays.
