Data Points with Context "Fortified Churches in Romania"

The 14th-century Mălâncrav Fortified Church, a Romanesque basilica with a tripartite layout, originally dedicated to Maria, underwent changes due to Reformation. Its fortifications from the 15th/16th centuries are partially preserved, with tower defense and wall ruins. Restoration in 1913 led to its current non-plastered stone appearance. Notable features include frescoes, intricate carvings, a Gothic winged altar depicting Mother of God, and a late Gothic pew crafted by Johann Reychmut.
