The Church of St. Demetrius is located in the heart of Tuminec within the village cemetery. It is composed of a naos and an altar. Within the altar, a round apse from the inside, a prosthesis and a diaconicon are present. The church was built with raw stones and lime mortar, incorporating the four corners with bricks framework and tiles placed randomly. From the inside the apse is decorated with two horizontal rows of bricks and a brick shaped medallion between its two lateral sides. Inside the church and above the indoor entrance there are different mural paintings. In the apse of the altar the image St. Mary Platytera is depicted, the Holy Hierarchs below it, the scene of Evangelism, St. Stephen the Protomartyr and St. Romanos the Melodist in the prosthesis and diaconicon. The image of St. Demetrius to whom the church is dedicated, is also part of the frescoes. The paintings from this church are distinguished by their graphics combination of modern and Roman styles, thick paintbrush usage, light colors of green, brown, yellow, accentuated face shape and pointing out the personal characteristics (Xhaferaj, 2015), typical for the art of the end of XIVth century. Although the author of these frescoes remains unknown, similarity with the frescoes from the Monastery of Zrze (1358-1359; Prilep), suggests the influence of the same workshop and style all around the area.

Saint Mary's Church (Leusa, Përmet) stands as a cultural heritage landmark in the district of Leusa, Përmet, Gjirokastër, Albania. Its historical roots extend to the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Justinian, although the present structure was built in the 18th century . The architectural composition encompasses the narthex, nave, altar area, porch, and chapel. The narthex's entry is on the western side, bordered by two windows, and it features two floors upheld by six pillars organized in two rows. The upper floor, accessible from the southwest corner, is illuminated by two north-facing windows. The connection between the narthex and the nave is established through a doorway adorned with windows on either side. The nave is divided into three sections by two tall arches flanked by columns and pilasters on the east side. The altar space boasts a beamed structure with a vaulted apse, along with the prothesis and the diaconicon featuring niches on the east and side walls. A wooden iconostasis of significant artistic value demarcates the altar area from the nave. In 2000, the church underwent reconstruction.

Construction on Saint Mary's Church, known as 'Kisha e Shën Mërisë,' commenced in 1789 and reached completion with decorations in 1891. After being closed in 1967, it was reopened in 1991, with its most recent restoration occurring in 2017. Access to the church is granted from the western side, marked by an arch formed by two stone columns. The narthex, comprising two levels, provides entry to the main body of the church. The upper level can be reached by wooden stairs on the left wing. To enter the nave, one descends three steps through the central door of the narthex. An alternate entrance lies to the south, connecting to an open hall. The nave showcases four columns joined by vaulted arches, with a central cylindrical dome featuring narrow windows. On both the north and south sides, the cylindrical nave extends east to west. Illumination for the nave comes through four sizable windows on each side. The area of the altar is demarcated by a walnut wood-carved iconostasis, followed by the semicircular apse.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is situated on a fenced hillock, enclosed by a low stone wall. Among the structures of the former monastic complex, only the katholikon, or main church, remains today. This well-constructed katholikon offers a glimpse into the grander ensemble that once existed. Historical sources and oral accounts underscore its significant role in both spiritual and social life across the broader region. The church's surroundings hosted a Greek school from the 19th century until the mid-1930s. Dating back to the 12th-13th century, the Church of the Assumption stands as a surviving element of the former monastic complex. It features a cruciform design with a dome, showcasing brick masonry, ceramic embellishments, a multi-level red roof, and intricate carvings adorning the upper portions of walls and the dome drum. Its architectural resemblance to the Nativity of the Virgin Church in Upper Episkopi is noteworthy, albeit with more elaborate external ornamentation. Access to the church is available through a western door, while two side doors on the north and south sides of the transept serve for interior ventilation only. The narthex is extended on the western side, resembling a first transept parallel to the nave. This section is distinctively covered by a semi-cylindrical arch, an unusual feature for structures of that era, adding an intriguing dimension to the relatively modest building.

The 500-year-old Saint May's Sleep Church in Kosine, Albania, the second oldest in the Balkans, has been fully restored after decades of neglect. This historic 12th-century Byzantine church, which hadn't been renovated since the 1980s, has been revitalized through careful efforts. The restoration project, in collaboration with the Orthodox Church, aims to turn the village of Kosine into a notable tourist destination. The church's unique architecture and its inclusion in the 'Roads of Faith' program contributed to its restoration. The revitalization encompassed structural stability, roof and floor repairs, window restoration, vegetation removal, and wall reinforcement. The next phase involves restoring the discovered frescoes and paintings within the church, illuminating its rich history.

The Church of St. Sergius and St. Bacchu (Kisha e Shen Sergit dhe Bakut) is built in the highest point of the village in the northwest and near the walls of the castle. The church consists of a narthex, naos, and altar. The church walls retain traces of numerous reconstructions. A document of the year 1577 indicates that the church was burned and rebuilt. It served for a long time as the seat of the bishopric of Himarë.
